  2. Purpose: Provide a critical breakdown of trends, issues, or claims.
    Use Case: Opinion pieces, trend analyses, or investigative reporting.

Techniques:

  1. Apply a logical structure for analysis (e.g., problem, context, implications).
  2. Get supporting evidence: charts, research, and case studies.
  3. Ensure you have a balanced and nuanced tone.

Workflow:

  1. Script: Start with an observation, followed by evidence: “Social media platforms claim to fight disinformation. But do their actions reflect their words?”
  2. Visuals: Use animations to explain data, timelines, or historical context.
  3. Delivery Style: Maintain an analytical tone without sounding overly skeptical or critical.
  4. Post-Production: Include data overlays and clear labelling for visual elements.

Tools to Use:

  1. Data Analysis: Google Trends – Analyse data trends for the context.
  2. Interactive Visuals: Tableau Public – Create dynamic graphs, illustrations and charts.
  3. Narration: NaturalReader – Include your own natural-sounding or AI generated voiceovers.
  4. Video Editing: HitFilm Express – Powerful editing for data-heavy content.

 

Process:

  1. Truly use Google Trends to analyse and visualise data related to your topic.
  2. Design interactive charts in Tableau Public to explain complex trends.
  3. Record narration using NaturalReader, your smartphone or a unidirectional microphone to ensure clarity.
  4. Edit in HitFilm Express, integrating visuals and voiceover for polished delivery.
